It's almost here

It's almost time for school to start again. It's been nice to have the summer off but it will also be nice to be learning again and moving forward with my education. It also keeps my mind off of other things that have been difficult and emotional.
I received my books and I have started working on the math ahead of time. I'm going to see how much I can get done before school even starts so I can get it done very early and concentrate my time and effort towards my other classes. I'm taking a heavier load than the last two semesters and all of my classes will be online so I'm a bit nervous and concerned that I may have bitten off more than I can handle. I also found out that I will have to travel back and forth to Layton for all of my tests unless I want to pay $20 per test which would be about $100 per week. It will be nice when I get my Associates degree and then if I continue with more schooling, maybe I will check into a school that is closer.
Wish me luck and pray for my old brain to absorb all of this new material. Let's see how long it takes me to write my next blog...

Catching up

I have never been good at keeping a journal so blogging probably won't be my strong suit either. However, it is better to hit and miss than it is to not even try or to give up.

So, with that said, I will attempt to catch up on the main points.

WORK - I worked at TASC in Ogden for almost a year. It was perfect for attending school. I had a lot of time to study while I was at work. I left there in May because of moving (more on this in another paragraph). I was hoping to transfer to the Salt Lake office but they didn't have an opening. I didn't worry about finding something right away because I was leaving for vacation and getting settled. The week I decided to get serious about finding a job, TASC called and said they had an opening in Salt Lake. I work about 20 hours per week which is great since I will be starting classes again at the end of August.

MOVED AGAIN - For those of you who know me well, this isn't a shock. I moved in with my parents to help with my dad. He needs more than one care giver since his fall down the stairs Christmas night.

SCHOOL - I completed two semesters and my worst grade so far is an A- which I'm pretty happy with since I hadn't been in school for 32 years. Who says an old dog can't learn new tricks? I will be completing my schooling online since I moved but I will still have to drive back and forth for testing. The nearest off-campus testing site wants to charge me $20 per test...ridiculous! It has been nice to have the summer off to give my brain a rest before cramming it full of more knowledge.

VACATIONS - I went to California with two of my daughters, Tanissa and Sheryce, and my two grandaughters, Karyssa and Kyrsten, and my sister-in-law, Cyndy and her granddaughter, Jaylee. We had so much fun going to the beach, Knotts Berry Farm, and visiting with friends and family who were so hospitable. I REALLY miss living in Cali. Thanks to the Reynoso family, and Zane and Tasha for making our trip so great!!!
Next, is a trip to Idaho with Sheryce, my parents, my sisters and some of their kids. I know we'll have a blast.

I think I need to attempt a 30 day blog challenge so I have an incentive and some direction with my blog but once school starts, I may not have any free time.
